Dear Sir or Madam,

currently an
undergraduate student in 3rd year law at Southampton University, I have always
been fascinated by the sea and international trade as well as I have ever been
truly attracted by the maritime industry. In the future, my aim is to become a
good maritime professional and to succeed in this competitive business. In
order to do so, I am looking for a work experience in the shipping industry.

I took the
opportunity this year to study maritime law (Admiralty Law and Carriage of
goods by Sea) as part of my bachelor in law. At the end of the year, I will
hopefully have a good knowledge in all aspects of maritime law. Any transaction
in the shipping industry involves a certain ammount of legal matters. For
instance, a charterer or shipbroker have to negotiate contracts, to interact
with P&I clubs or Admiralty lawyers all the time. Therefore, the
industry-focused knowledge I will have acquired at the end of this year will be
helpful in any position in the shipping industry.

My law degree
provided me with good analytical and critical thinking skills which are
important in any industry or job. Moreover, I am hardworking and always strive
toward achieving the best. Therefore, I am confident I have the required skills
to succeed in this industry.

At the end of this
year, I am going to apply for masters in maritime operations and management.
Therefore, I am really interested in working as an intern in a more commercial
role but I am opened to any professional experience in the shipping industry.
